Leeseo (Korean: 이서; Japanese: イソ; also stylized as LeeSeo) is a South Korean singer, model, and MC under Starship Entertainment. She is the youngest member (or maknae) of the South Korean girl group, IVE.
Early Life & Education[]
Leeseo was born on February 21, 2007, in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea. She has one sibling - a younger sister that was born in 2011.
For her education, Leeseo attended and graduated from Seoul Jamwon Elementary School and Bangbae Middle School. For high school, she attended Hanlim Arts School as a student of the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment.[2] Leeseo graduated from high school on January 8, 2026.[3]
Career[]
Pre-Debut[]
During her second year of elementary school, in 2016, Leeseo was part of SM Entertainment's Kids Model First Generation.[4]
In 2019, Leeseo was street-cast by Starship Entertainment while she was shopping with her parents at Shinsaegae Department Store's Gangnam branch.[5] According to the agency scout who casted her, Leeseo was memorable for her sparkling eyes. At her audition, Leeseo sang Rihanna's "Take a Bow" and OH MY GIRL's "Remember Me". Ultimately, she passed her audition and joined Starship's trainee system.
From joining Starship Entertainment as a trainee to her debut with IVE, Leeseo trained for approximately 2 years.
November–December 2021: Debut with IVE[]
On November 8th, 2021, Leeseo was revealed as the sixth and final member of Starship Entertainment's girl group IVE.[6] The group debuted on December 1 with their first single album "Eleven" and its title track of the same name.
June 2022: "Blue & Black"[]
On June 6, 2022, it was announced that members of IVE, OH MY GIRL, and CRAVITY would collaborate for a digital single that would be released as part of Starship Entertainment's ongoing collaboration project with Pepsi. That same day, the members of said groups that would be participating were revealed, including Leeseo.[7] The collaborative single, titled "Blue & Black", was released on June 28.
2024: "May Lily", Inkigayo[]
On February 16, 2024, it was announced that Leeseo will be releasing the song "May Lily" for the original soundtrack of the Naver Webtoon series I'm the Queen in This Life.[8] The OST was officially released days later on February 22.
On April 11, Leeseo was announced as a new MC for SBS's music show program Inkigayo.[9] Her first broadcast took place on April 28.
2025: Departure from Inkigayo[]
On December 3, 2025, it was announced that Leeseo would be stepping down from her position as an Inkigayo MC after a year and seven months.[10] Her final broadcast as MC took place on December 7.
